Case studies
Erica Dent managed the Wine & Spirit Education Trust’s (WSET®) Public Relations and Events department for five years. During this time the numbers of students sitting WSET examinations increased from 9,000 to over 20,000.
Apart from co-ordinating the WSET’s prestigious events, the Awards of Excellence Ceremony, and the Annual Lecture – both of which have become key dates in the wine and spirit industry calendar - Erica took the WSET around the UK, communicating with its associates, and promoting it to the public.
At many trade and consumer exhibitions, the WSET hosted the educational wine and spirit tasting theatres. These have served a vital service of enlightening and enthusing thousands of consumers of wine, and employees in the drinks industry over the recent years. These events include prestigious shows such as the London International Wine Fair, Wine+, Publican Live, National Licensed Business Show, Bar Show, The Restaurant Show, BBC Good Food Show, Taste of London, and Tesco Wine Fairs. At all these shows, and more, it proved invaluable for the WSET to have a well-appointed and eye-catching stand, which Erica ensured was efficiently staffed with proactive and knowledgeable team members.
